Until I get rolling on the next project steps this weekend - I thought I'd post about
Swivel Chair Parts.com, I discovered them while researching my Selig lounge. Luckily the hardware on my chair is in working order (although it does tip waaay too far back, but I'm hoping some adjustments/tighening will fix this) so I won't be ordering anything, but they come recommended by others who have gone through this process.
(The website is a little difficult to navigate, but worth it!)
You should volunteer to re-design their website...
ReplyDeleteThis is off topic, but have you ever checked out this blog: day-lab.blogspot.com? There's some decorating/vintage content, but Amy, the blogger, also posts about cats (!!) and the architecture and plants in her neighborhood. Some of the plants are insane! Check this one out: http://day-lab.blogspot.com/2008/05/native-discovery.html
Thought you might like it.
I like her blog too - I haven't visited in a while, though. Thanks for the reminder. I'm still sad I couldn't get the same bag you bought from her store!
ReplyDeleteDid you ever fix the problem of it tipping too far back? If so, how. I think I have the same issue with mine.
ReplyDeleteNah, I just watch how far I tip and warn guests. It stopped bothering me, and I never found the exact mechanism to replace mine.
ReplyDeleteHi, I have a Sielig and also a George Mulhouser, both found on trash day on the side of the road. Thanks for posting a how to. I am still struggling with what material to use. I'm vegetarian and would never choose leather.
ReplyDeleteHi CRL - There are a lot of non-leather choices out there. You can use any kind of heavyweight upholstery fabric or vinyl, which has come a long way! You can get durable. nice looking "green" vinyl. I got mine from Designtex. If you go to their website they have an outlet store with great discounts.
