So I cannot resist buying vintage sewing books, I love them! Most of the basic sewing techniques have not changed much, ever, really, but what I love are the illustrations!
Check out the suggested fabric color charts - according to hair color!? (click them to enlarge!), lovely trim illustrations, and a slip cover measurements chart. The chart, I think is still really handy!
Ooooh! Looks even more lovely than the 1954 book I just picked up at my mom's yesterday (though the colorwheels are the same and some of the dress sketches). My sister and I took great joy in drawing figures into the rooms in teh 70s-- embarrassingly enough naked men and women in suggestive positions -- then later I actually picked up some techniques from the book. Now it's MINE
