A pic of my "eamesy" (is that dumb? nah, I like it, whatever) landed over at sfgirlbybay, in great company - celebrating great vintage chairs and their chair addict owners.
I just linked to your amazing "eamsey" (I like it) in a post where we did the same to ours - we used white leather (which is a little lumpy, but we love it!) I hope you'll come check it out and see what you've inspired!
Thanks for the link, and it came out GREAT! The white is super crisp, and doesn't the DIY/cheap-ness satisfaction outweigh any imperfections? (I think so.)
Just wanted to say thanks for posting this lovely project. Just finished up one of these myself (thanks in great part to your wonderfully detailed instructions). Mine was actually not in quite as good of shape, so I ended up sanding down a lot of the wood and applying a new layer of walnut veneer; I'm really happy with the end result. Check it out here.
(I've lost my camera--better pictures to follow soon)
Thanks again for your wonderful step-by-step guide!
Awesome Byzantine!! Please take (better) pics and let me know - I'd like to do a blog post about it! I'd like to hear about applying veneer, something I've not yet tried to tackle.
